Housing Advice

Access to safe and stable housing is essential for rebuilding life after experiencing gender-based violence.

At LAWA, we provide specialist housing advice for Latin American and other global majority women, particularly survivors of domestic violence and other forms of gendered violence.

We offer guidance and advocacy on:

  • Understanding housing rights and available support options.
  • Applying for emergency accommodation and refuge space.
  • Navigating the housing system, including council housing applications.
  • Dealing with landlord disputes and tenancy rights.
  • Preventing homelessness and accessing housing benefits.
  • Our team works with women to ensure they can access safe and secure housing, empowering them to move forward with independence and dignity.
