Emergency Accomodation

Established in the United Kingdom since 1987, LAWA’s refuges are safe homes for Latin American and other global majority women who are fleeing gender-based violence, in particular domestic violence.

We manage refuges across London, offering confidential and secure accommodation for Latin American and other global majority women and children. Designed as safe spaces for recovery and growth, our refuges are staffed by a friendly and professional team committed to supporting each resident. Through a holistic, person-centred approach, we develop tailored emotional and practical support plans that address the unique intersectional needs of every woman and child. Our refuges are more than just accommodation – they are places of new beginnings, hope, and healing.

Children and Young People services

We offer specialised services for global majority children and young people at the refuge. Our Children and family support worker runs weekly activities to encourage their recovery and the reestablishment of the relationship with their mothers after living or witnessing traumatic violent experiences. We also provide specialised counselling services for children in their own language.

Call us or come to our offices if you are seeking a refuge space.
